The Witcher 3: Deeply Buried Secrets Revealed Thanks To REDkit?! [VIDEO]

Thanks to the players, the deleted content of The Witcher 3 has come to light…

The ongoing conversation about The Witcher 3 makes it clear that CD Projekt’s hit game has left a mark on many players. The open-world RPG said goodbye in 2016 with the Blood and Wine add-on. Although it received a Complete version to meet the needs of the new console generation, no one expected the massive update that was released in May: the arrival of the game’s REDkit. This, which allows players to experiment with RPG. You can use it to create more and better mods. In addition, some of the game’s cut content was also restored for the experimental gamers.

Some want to restore the original The Witcher levels in this third part, while others are drawn to the cropped content.

Now, thanks to the REDkit modding tools, players have started to discover and recreate the game’s early and deleted content. Among these efforts, one fan managed to recreate an essential piece of the narrative removed by the developers. All of this puts certain events in a different light and provides a different experience of the outcome.

The extended ending of The Witcher 3

With that in mind, YouTube user glassfish777 wondered, “What happened to the Sorceress Lodge at the end of The Witcher 3?” and began digging through the known facts that survived in the original game’s data. To give you some context, in the final version of the game that we got to enjoy, Geralt finds himself surrounded by monsters after defeating Eredin. Yennefer appears and takes her through a portal to Undvik, where they meet Ciri in a tower. However, the initially planned scene was different.

In the user-recreated fragment, Geralt wakes up in a makeshift hospital in Undvik’s Nilfgaardian camp.

Ciri has disappeared along with Avallac’h, and it’s up to Geralt to find her. For this, he asks for the help of the Sorceress Lodge, whose members are imprisoned by Emhyr after completing the mission. Here, it turns out that the amnesty promised by Yennefer was fake. Triss is the only one who manages to escape, thanks to an item she got earlier.

This fragment at the end of the current version of the game tries to shed light on the Lodge’s fate. Since these events are included in the original game data, CD Projekt could have planned to show us them. But for unknown reasons, they had to change their plans.

Players believe that the pace of the narrative drove the decision, as the sudden slowdown after the intense battle with Eredin could have negatively affected the reception of the ending.

The recreated scenario also includes other elements of interest to players, such as the funeral of Crach an Craite or the fate of Cerys, who does not die in the story. The mod creator has also announced that he will be making a video showing other versions of the conversations from this alternate version of the game. True, saving them and adapting the lip sync to them will require some work.
