Try the Fallout 1 Remake Today – Here Are the Details!

The demo of an ambitious RPG mod called Vault 13 is out today. To run this recreated version of Fallout 1 – not surprisingly – you will need the fourth game.

Fan-made remakes have become a common trend in the gaming world over the past 15 years. While big companies sometimes forget about some of their classic games, gamers don’t. Vault 13 was born out of this need. The remake of the original 1997 Fallout will use the engine and assets of Fallout 4 to take us back to the first game in the series. The Fallout 1 remake demo will be available for free starting today.

As mentioned, this remake was developed by a group of Fallout fans. The team worked hard to recreate the feel and gameplay of the original Fallout, but with modern technology. A titanic work that, as expected, does not have the support of Bethesda. But since it’s backed by companies like GOG, like Fallout: London, it could have a promising future despite its unofficial status.

The project, known by its full name as, Fallout: Vault 13, stirred up a lot of dust among fans of the series.

Although its version 1.0 is still far from final, we get a small taste of it today. According to a quote from Gry-Online staff, the demo will be available from the early dawn of August 9, 05:00 Hungarian time. It can be downloaded from the project’s official Discord and ModDB page. As expected, you will need Fallout 4 for this to work, as this is a mod for the game.

What’s in the Fallout 1 Remake Demo?

According to the development team, this demo version represents a small part of what the entire mod will be like. Overall, the demo allows you to explore how the original elements of Interplay Productions and Tim Cain’s game have been adapted to the Fallout 4 engine. Also, specific iconic locations such as the well-known Vault 13 and its surroundings.

A full release date for Fallout: Vault 13 has yet to be announced. However, the community is curious to see how far the project will go in its mission to revive the iconic role-playing game. As this group of modders revealed at the time, the remake will be complete. It includes all elements of the original game and complements it with voiceovers without resorting to artificial intelligence.

It’s important to note that Fallout: Vault 13 isn’t the only project of its kind in development. In parallel, work is underway on Project Arroyo, which aims to recreate the second part of the series, also using the Fallout 4 engine. In fact, the two teams work closely together, sharing resources and common elements, which can speed up the development of both projects.
