Star Citizen Offers Two-Week Free Play Event! [VIDEO]

Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) still has no idea when the game will be ready, but it’s free to play for two weeks.

CIG is celebrating the annual Intergalactic Aerospace Expo (IAE) by making Star Citizen free to play from November 22nd to December 5th. This event celebrates space travel, the machines that fly it, and their role in the United Empire of Earth. IAE 2954 will introduce the new IAE Academy system, which will educate players about spaceflight, and those who want rewards need only complete the tasks.

Once players have completed the experience with the Drake Cutter ship, they can rent any of the other ships for missions ranging from transport to mining. In return, players will receive in-game UEC and IAE clothing, weapons, and armor. Those who attend the show will see new ships in the showroom every day, as the main manufacturers change daily. You can rent them for free during the event. There will also be four new boats available for immediate use.

RSI Polaris makes its debut here for the last time. It has reached full production and will be flown during the event. There is a maximum of twelve people on board and it has a canteen and a medical room. There is also a hangar for a smaller ship with a variety of manned and unmanned weapons. If we’re talking about long range ships, the RSI Polaris promises to be a great one, as we’ll be able to take advantage of all its aspects during longer missions.

Keep an eye out for the IAE 2954 event at MicroTech in New Babbage. This is where new pilots can sign up for the free period, which has already started, and there is still plenty of time to catch up before December 5th. A full schedule of what to expect during the event is also available on the game’s official website, along with a list of exhibiting manufacturers.

But we still have to ask: when will Star Citizen be released?
