MOVIE NEWS – With Season 1 ending on a dramatic cliffhanger, fans of Daredevil: Born Again finally know when the hero will return. According to showrunner Dario Scardapane, the second season drops on Disney+ in March 2026—strategically placed before the premieres of Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, hinting at a growing connection between the series and the larger MCU.
Daredevil: Born Again is poised to make a timely comeback. As the looming multiverse crisis involving Doctor Doom continues to brew in the background of the cinematic Marvel Universe, the series focuses on a grounded New York where costumed vigilantes are outlawed. Season 1’s finale left viewers with major questions, perhaps setting the stage for a revival of The Defenders and deeper MCU integration.
Dario Scardapane took to Instagram to confirm the return: Season 2 will land on Disney+ in March 2026. While he didn’t specify the exact date, it’s expected almost exactly one year after the Season 1 premiere (March 4, 2025). That positions it ahead of Avengers: Doomsday (May 1) and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31).
Daredevil’s New Season May Undercut Spider-Man’s Storyline
Shooting on the second season kicked off as Season 1 was still airing. Leaks already revealed a new look for Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and a revamped Daredevil costume. Matthew Lillard has officially joined the cast, while other Marvel characters remain unconfirmed, though Krysten Ritter keeps teasing a Jessica Jones return. This timing might also influence where other Marvel shows and specials fit in the upcoming release slate.
The Punisher special is expected to air before Daredevil returns—likely in January or February—positioning Frank Castle for a more central role in the battle against Kingpin. If the second season mirrors the pacing of the first, it might wrap up just three weeks before Avengers: Doomsday. Daredevil may not appear in the Avengers film, but Marvel seems to be leaving room for a cameo or future involvement—possibly in Secret Wars. Still, Season 2’s release date may have zero real effect on Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Initially conceived as an 18-episode saga, the series was split into two seasons, with Season 2 now consisting of eight episodes. That suggests a complete arc concluding with Daredevil and his allies finally taking down Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, and closing the vigilante storyline in NYC. Since the season arrives four months ahead of the next Spider-Man film, it’s unlikely Kingpin’s reign will significantly impact Peter Parker’s next big-screen outing. Fans hoping for a gritty street-level crossover between Daredevil and Spidey might be disappointed—though a brief nod remains possible.
