The next unannounced project from Bethesda Game Studios (BGS) will reportedly have no shortage of content.
The new version of BGS’s 19-year-old role-playing game is rumored to include all DLC (including the scandalous horse armor?). According to a reliable leaker on Reddit’s Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit, Lord Cognito revealed in the latest episode of the Defining Duke podcast, which is not yet public, that all DLC released for the original game will be included in the remaster. Since they were quite good (without the horse armor…), this would be a very fair move on the part of BGS and Microsoft.
The developer is rumored to be Virtuos, so it’s not Todd Howard’s team responsible for the remaster of the 2006 The Elder Scrolls title, but an outside team. The game’s existence was essentially confirmed earlier this week, with a bunch of screenshots leaked via the developer’s official website. Details are still very sketchy, but we’ve already heard that we shouldn’t have to wait too long for the remaster, as several insiders have said that we can expect The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered to be released next week.

All we know about the project is that Epic Games is using the technology that almost everyone is using, so the Oblivion remaster will be made using Unreal Engine 5. According to an earlier rumor, the remaster will also include a lot of gameplay tweaks that could significantly improve the experience. It wasn’t that bad back then, although the bugs that were common in BGS were still quite common, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion had some pretty hefty system requirements on PC. Running on the Gamebryo engine, the game was released on March 20, 2006 for PC and Xbox 360, followed by the Game of the Year Edition on September 10, 2007; PlayStation 3 on March 20, 2007, and GotY on October 16, 2007.
All this is not official yet!
