The Last Mission: Impossible Will Last More Than Two Hours

MOVIE NEWS – Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning isn’t just set to thrill audiences with its explosive action — its epic runtime will leave a mark too. Clocking in at 169 minutes, or 2 hours and 49 minutes, the film promises to keep things fast-paced enough that those nearly three hours won’t feel long.

The Mission: Impossible franchise has always been about raising the stakes, whether with over-the-top stunts or increasingly long runtimes. The first film was only 110 minutes long, but subsequent entries stretched the length to make room for more elaborate storytelling and action.

Audiences seem to have toughened up as well. The Beast ran for more than three and a half hours, Oppenheimer was a solid three hours long, and even Scorsese barely kept Killers of the Flower Moon under three and a half — and nobody seemed to mind.

Meanwhile, Collider speculates that Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning could be the last installment in the saga — or not. Either way, some long-held secrets might finally be revealed. The trailer hints at iconic scenes from earlier chapters, and there’s likely a reason for this nostalgia. As Tom Cruise put it: “If you have questions, watch the movie.”

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning – Release date: May 22, 2025.
