“The launch is just the beginning.” Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is here to stay. In just a few days, they will officially reveal the post-launch plans, and it’s already clear that two major expansions are on the horizon.
Since its release in March, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has captivated players worldwide, immersing them in a rich portrayal of feudal Japan through the dual protagonists Naoe and Yasuke. Blending stealth, strategic combat, and an engaging story, it has become one of the biggest hits of the year, and Ubisoft knows there’s still plenty of room for more content.
With its vast open world full of opportunities, players are eager to see what’s next. Ubisoft has announced that on April 30, they will unveil their post-launch content roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In a teaser posted on social media, a developer hinted that more missions, content, and expansions are in the works for the open-world adventure.
The future of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will soon be revealed
So far, only one expansion has been confirmed: Claws of Awaji, taking Naoe and Yasuke to a mysterious island to face deadly enemies, offering around 10 hours of new content. Players who pre-ordered the game were able to get this expansion for free. However, the upcoming roadmap is expected to reveal details about a second expansion, community-requested updates, thematic events, and new game modes.
“It’s been amazing to see millions of players enjoying the game. Launch is just the beginning. Now it’s time to look forward and share what’s coming next,” Ubisoft stated. Players have consistently requested a New Game+ mode and deeper customization options for Naoe and Yasuke.
