After Sony once again raised the price of PlayStation Plus, you’d think the company might actually try to offer more value. Well, not this time…
The PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, accessible to Extra and Premium tier subscribers, will be expanded with the following titles: Battlefield V (PS4), Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted – Full Time Edition (PS5, PS4), which includes the base game and the Curse of Dreadbear DLC (PS VR2 compatible); Gloomhaven: Mercenaries Edition (PS5, PS4); Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (PS5, PS4); Humankind (PS5, PS4); Sand Land (PS5, PS4); Soul Hackers 2 (PS5); S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy (PS5, PS4) — more on that later today — and Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (PS5).
The PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog, available only for Premium members, is getting exactly one new game: Battle Engine Aquila (PS5, PS4), a PlayStation 2 title. No, this isn’t a joke — that’s literally the only addition. Considering Sony has four generations of back catalog IPs to choose from, this meager update is downright forgettable.
Sure, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy brings three games, and Battlefield V is a decent addition, but overall, it’s not enough. Making matters worse, Sony continues to avoid publishing a list of titles leaving the service — something fans keep pointing out in PlayStation Blog comments. With the recent price hike, players deserve a better response, not silence and mediocrity.
The listed games will be available starting May 20, 2025.
