CD Projekt RED (CDPR)’s new footage shows visuals that may force us to admit we underestimated Nintendo’s hardware…
New Cyberpunk 2077 Nintendo Switch 2 footage has surfaced online, further confirming that Nintendo’s next-gen console has more power than previously believed. The embedded video below, from the Den Famicom Gamer YouTube channel, gives us a fresh look at the port. It highlights how good the game looks and runs—perhaps even better than expected. The confirmed use of Nvidia DLSS upscaling further demonstrates the impressive visual capability of Nintendo’s new device.
Every showcase so far clearly reflects that CDPR invested serious effort into ensuring the Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 port not only runs but also looks excellent. Earlier this month, Jan Rosner, the studio’s VP of business, noted that while getting the game to run was easy, optimizing its performance on the platform was a real challenge for the Polish devs. Some compromises were made, but these didn’t affect the game’s artistic vision—something that’s evident in the new footage.
CDPR is also doing things right: Cyberpunk 2077 will not be distributed as a Game Key Card. That means the entire game will be on the cartridge, no download required. Players will be able to start playing immediately, giving Nintendo users a true plug-and-play experience. Other publishers could take note—though they probably won’t.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, available starting June 5 alongside the console.
