Kingmakers: surprising system requirements!

Redemption Road’s game has received system requirements on one digital store, but not on another.

This is quite unusual, because there’s normally parity between Steam and the Epic Games Store, but this time it’s different: the Epic Games Store lists Kingmakers’ system requirements, while Steam does not. Let’s take a look at how powerful a PC you’ll need:

Minimum system requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10 x64 (no version number listed)
  • Processor: 10th generation Intel Core i5 (no AMD alternative mentioned)
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 (no AMD card listed)
  • DirectX: DX11
  • Free storage: 80 GB

Recommended system requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10 x64 (no version number listed)
  • Processor: 10th generation Intel Core i7 (no AMD alternative mentioned)
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 (no AMD card listed)
  • DirectX: DX11
  • Free storage: 80 GB

In Kingmakers, you’ll control a soldier in the midst of a medieval battle, armed with modern weapons. Thanks to the time-warping element, you’ll be able to completely turn the tide of battle against your medieval foes. The game combines action and real-time strategy elements, all powered by Unreal Engine 5. It’s a bit of an odd choice, since strategy games usually need to handle many units on screen, while Unreal Engine 5 shines in close environments. The early trailers looked a bit blurry, but that might be due to post-production effects or motion blur.

The system requirements for Kingmakers might be most surprising when it comes to the free storage space: 80 GB is no small number. The game will be available in early access on October 8, but these requirements are not yet final, so they might still change!
