MOVIE NEWS – After reimagining the classic vampire story Nosferatu with inimitable style, Robert Eggers has once again turned to ancient legends.
Werwulf brings the werewolf myth to life in a 13th-century setting. Thanks to the four-time Oscar-nominated Nosferatu earning over $173 million worldwide, Eggers was given free rein to realize his vision. “This is a truly serious medieval werewolf story, and it’s the darkest thing I’ve ever worked on,” he declared recently.
The director isn’t bothered that a similarly themed The Wolfman recently ran in theaters; as he says, his approach is entirely different from the modern-set horror. No casting news is yet available for Werwulf.
