This Witcher 3 Mod Looks So Incredible, It Could Fool You Into Thinking It’s Witcher 4 [VIDEO]

Witcher fans have been waiting forever for the official next installment, but one ambitious mod has people buzzing. The Last Wish Project brings Andrzej Sapkowski’s legendary tale to The Witcher 3 engine, and it looks so polished, it could easily pass for the upcoming Witcher 4. While the next mainline game is still years away, this stunning mod is the perfect fix for those who can’t wait.

The Witcher 4 was officially announced by CD Projekt RED (the studio behind Cyberpunk 2077) back in 2022, sparking huge excitement from fans of Geralt and Ciri. Anticipation reached a fever pitch when the first trailer dropped at The Game Awards 2024—though it showcased no gameplay. That changed this June, when CDPR finally revealed breathtaking Witcher 4 footage running on Unreal Engine 5, raising the hype to new heights.

But even with that jaw-dropping reveal, the game’s launch is still a long way off—possibly years. In the meantime, modders are stepping up to fill the void. Enter The Last Wish Project, a major fan-made mod inspired by Sapkowski’s classic novella (and, indirectly, the Netflix series).
“Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, a man whose magic powers and lifelong training have made him a brilliant fighter and a merciless assassin,” the synopsis goes. “Yet he is no ordinary killer: he hunts the vile fiends that ravage the land and attack the innocent. But not everything monstrous-looking is evil; not everything fair is good, and in every fairytale there is a grain of truth.”

While The Last Wish mod is still in early alpha, it already aims to faithfully adapt the source material—and you can take part in playtesting right now. There’s just one catch: it only works with the PC version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Console players, for now, will have to stick with the original game on PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch.
Stay tuned for more Witcher 4 updates as soon as they drop!
