GeForce RTX 5070 Ti: Is One Manufacturer Starving It For A More Profitable Model?

TECH NEWS – The more expensive the card, the higher the margin, and that is why one manufacturer is reportedly shifting its focus to a different model.

Although Nvidia has confirmed that production of all GeForce RTX 5000 series graphics cards remains stable, board partners are taking a different approach on their own side. Asus appears to be making significant changes to its graphics card distribution, prioritizing high-end 16 GB GPUs while limiting the supply of RTX 5070 Ti models. In the second quarter of 2026, Asus changed its high-end GPU strategy after analyzing current market trends, the ongoing memory shortage, and supply chain constraints. These new changes affect two models: the RTX 5070 Ti and the RTX 5080.

In the second quarter, Asus is adjusting the sales strategy for its high-end graphics card lineup. Because of changes above the GPU supply level, the availability of certain models may be reduced, so end users and distributors across the country will need to adjust their focus accordingly. Asus continues to reduce the supply of the RTX 5070 Ti series. The factory will primarily focus on selling a few mainstream models, while the related manufacturing capacity gradually shifts to the RTX 5080 series. The factory advises that sales of the RTX 5080 series should maintain their current market share. Online sales and high-end DIY PC sales should be actively pursued, and the factory will provide special sales support for this model. The factory also notes that an RTX 5080 Master EVO version may appear later, and industry customers are being advised to seize the opportunity and actively close orders.

It appears that Asus will continue reducing its current lineup of GeForce RTX 5070 Ti models, focusing only on a few mainstream models such as Dual and Prime. The availability of high-end ROG and Strix series models will be limited, and they may eventually be removed from production. Instead of expanding the lineup further, the focus will move to the high-end RTX 5080 graphics card, a strategy similar to what we heard a few months ago when Nvidia and its AIB partners focused on high-end GPUs with the same amount of VRAM. Since both the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 feature 16 GB of VRAM, the RTX 5080 is getting priority.

Asus will likely launch an intensive marketing campaign for its GeForce RTX 5080 series graphics cards, including the introduction of new models such as the RTX 5080 Master EVO, which is expected soon. Nvidia has already clarified that production of the entire GeForce RTX 5000 GPU lineup will remain stable, and the company is doing everything it can to minimize the impact of rising memory prices on end users. Given Asus’s change in strategy, it would not be surprising if other AIB partners follow a similar direction in the future.
