A New The Batman: Part II Video Has Surfaced, and a Fan Favorite Is Back

MOVIE NEWS – Production on The Batman: Part II is finally moving at full speed, and the past several weeks have brought a steady stream of small glimpses at Matt Reeves’ long-awaited sequel. The newest footage offers a particularly exciting return, showing Bruce Wayne’s unmistakable Batmobile from the first movie arriving on location in Glasgow.

The Batman became a major theatrical success in 2022, with audiences and critics responding strongly to Matt Reeves’ noir-driven interpretation of the DC hero and Robert Pattinson’s younger Bruce Wayne. This Batman had only been operating in Gotham for a couple of years, allowing Reeves to concentrate on an obsessive and still inexperienced detective rather than a completely developed version of the Dark Knight. The sequel, unfortunately, has taken considerably longer to materialize than originally expected after going through multiple delays.

Filming finally began this June, and Reeves soon gave impatient fans an early taste by releasing brief test footage of Pattinson standing in the rain in the complete Batman suit before dramatically turning toward the camera. More material subsequently emerged from the production, including footage of Bruce Wayne riding a motorcycle, apparently trying to remain relatively inconspicuous while investigating something around Gotham. Charles Dance has also appeared around the production, making him one of the sequel’s most intriguing new additions.

The latest footage, however, is attracting attention for something other than an actor. TikTok user luluowl_ captured the Batmobile driving into a garage in Glasgow, providing another clear look at one of the most distinctive elements from Reeves’ first movie. Glasgow is once again being used alongside several other cities to represent parts of Gotham in The Batman: Part II, so further exterior footage may emerge as production continues.

The Batmobile Has Barely Changed Since The Batman

Batman’s famous vehicle has undergone dramatic transformations throughout its many decades on screen. Tim Burton’s movies gave the hero a long, futuristic machine, while Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy transformed it into the heavily armored, tank-like Tumbler. Reeves deliberately went in a more grounded direction for The Batman. Pattinson’s version resembled an aggressively modified classic American muscle car, something Bruce Wayne could plausibly have assembled himself in a private garage. Judging from the new footage, The Batman: Part II is sticking closely to that approach, with essentially the same raw, mechanical machine returning to Gotham’s streets.

What Bruce Wayne will actually need the Batmobile for remains a closely guarded mystery. Andy Serkis returns as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright is back as James Gordon, and Colin Farrell once again plays Oz Cobb, better known as the Penguin, while Charles Dance, Sebastian Stan, and Scarlett Johansson have joined the sequel. Rumors and conflicting reports continue to surround the precise identities of several new characters, meaning the Batmobile’s return is currently much more certain than exactly which new Gotham adversaries will stand in Robert Pattinson’s Batman’s way.
