Lenovo Legion Go: Are the Two New Models Inspired by the Nintendo Switch?

STEAM DECK NEWS – The Chinese company is trying to keep up with the competition as it plans to update the hardware in its handheld PCs, following the MSI Claw 8 (not yet released) and the Asus ROG Ally X (already released).

The Nintendo Switch has completely revolutionized portable video gaming (beyond iOS/Android smartphones), and while the device isn’t as technologically powerful, it has also inspired Valve, as Gabe Newell’s company launched the Steam Deck, which other tech companies have followed with their own devices. Companies are mostly building on AMD technology, but not the MSI Claw for example, but that’s not the point…

Lenovo’s Legion Go Dock specs are a bit of a sneak peek, as the company has confirmed not only that a second-generation Legion Go is in the works, but also a Legion Go Lite. So along with a hardware refresh, a smaller model could be in the works. This time it’s been spotted in Lenovo’s Legion Go USB-C Dock supported devices: Legion Go Gen One, Legion Go Gen Two, Legion Go Lite. All of this has since been deleted, but Videocardz has rescued it all, and a YouTube user has shown an image of the smaller PC’s bezel.

It’s a real Nintendo Switch successor: like the Switch Lite, the Legion Go Lite doesn’t come with detachable controllers, but with a smaller handheld PC. This can be a good thing, as you can either put it in your pocket or throw it in your backpack without the bulky case. And the second-generation Lenovo Legion Go will likely drop the AMD Ryzen Z1 APU in favor of the newer Strix Point solution. There’s no chance that the Chinese company will open up to Intel’s Lunar Lake chips.

So it’s really the big N approach that Lenovo has taken. It’s not official yet, but the company itself has spoken out…
