Dead Space is Back Next Year, But Not How You Think!

The Dead Space franchise is still popular today (the remake of the first installment was a big part of that), and Electronic Arts wants to take advantage of that to some extent.

The only problem is, it’s not exactly how a remake of the second Dead Space episode would be made, or how Motive would approach Dead Space 4. The original team, Visceral Games, was shut down by the Andrew Wilson-led publisher a few years ago, and Motive is currently working on a new Iron Man game, as well as helping out the DICE-Criterion Games-Ripple Effect trio with the next Battlefield installment. So how does the franchise come back?

Via graphic novels. Between 2008 and 2013, Dead Space, Dead Space: Liberation and Dead Space: Salvage will be re-released by IDW Comics and Titan Comics. Until then, it’s worth checking out Dead Space Remake, which is currently available on Xbox Game Pass alongside PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium. Comic books have always been popular because the art style wasn’t afraid to show blood and violence, and was able to adequately express the scale of the galaxy.

“I’m so thrilled to be bringing these nail-biting graphic novels back after so long in the black void. I remember when I first played the game, sitting alone in the dark, holding my breath as I waited for terrifying monsters to unleash their fury. Fans of the game and newcomers are going to love getting this same terrifying experience once again,” Jake Devine, editor of Titan Comics, said.

The first issue will be available on March 11th, and until then who knows what will happen to Isaac Clarke. In any case, Dead Space Remake is in the same situation as many others: a single-player game with no season pass, microtransactions, or live service. The public loves it. Sales do not reach the target. The publisher is disappointed and stops working on the IP. How many times have we seen this?
