Astro Bot is the best video game of the year, and game of the year is not the only award that the PlayStation miracle won at The Game Awards…

 

 

An absolute success for the Asobi team! The Japanese company PlayStation Studios won the award for best video game of the year with Astro Bot at the 2024 The Game Awards. The platformer beat out Balatro, Black Myth: Wukong, Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Metaphor: ReFantazio in the “Game of the Year” category at yesterday’s event.

Astro Bot also won the awards for best game design, best action and adventure game and best family game.

The other big winners of the event were Balatro and Metaphor: ReFantazio, each of which took home four statuettes. In general, it can be said that the awards were nicely distributed among the competitors.

Astro Bot launched on September 6th, exclusively for PS5, and takes players on a galactic mission filled with challenges and platformer elements.
