With another month behind us (and 2024 behind us), it’s time to take another look at the titles that will be available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Sometimes it’s unfortunate that the Wednesday before the first Tuesday of the month falls on the first of the month – so it was a little later than usual for Sony to announce what PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will be able to play next month. This was fine because if the company had announced a week ago, everyone would have been informed about the January titles in the middle of the Christmas rush…
Unfortunately, there was no leak this time either, so billbil-kun and Dealabs didn’t tell us what games to expect this time, even though we took a direct look at the leaker’s Twitter. Unfortunately, those days are over, so now we don’t have the opportunity to announce next month’s free titles even a few full days in advance. Anyway, let’s take a look at what games we can start 2025 with…
The headline of the month is a bit ridiculous, as it’s about Rocksteady’s failed game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (PlayStation 5). Then, for those who like to race, it’s Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered (PlayStation 4). The third title is a typical indie game, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), available to subscribers until February 3rd.
As a reminder, here’s a list of the PlayStation Plus Essential titles that would be available in December, with until the 6th of January to catch up on the previous month’s offer. This month’s highlight is Hazelight’s successful co-op game It Takes Two (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4; the studio’s follow-up game Split Fiction has since been announced – Josef Fares shows some promise again…). The second game is a RTS, Aliens: Dark Descent (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4). The third game seems to be inspired by Pokémon; it’s called Temtem (PlayStation 5).
Hopefully Sony will be able to push itself with this year’s PlayStation Plus Essential offering, as we’ve already reported that interest in December games was at a record low…
