TECH NEWS – Three new users reported thermal gel leakage from Gigabyte’s new-gen GPUs, raising fresh concerns about the RTX 5000 series’ quality control.
The Gigabyte RTX 5000 thermal paste issue is far from over: three more users have now confirmed that their cards are leaking thermal gel, echoing the initial reports from weeks ago. Gigabyte had previously acknowledged the issue, citing excessive paste on early production batches of RTX 5000 cards, but insisted that it does not affect performance.
However, on the Techpowerup forums, users remekra, TaLL, and Vermie22 posted alarming photos of gel leaking toward the I/O panel and PCI-E slots, especially in vertically mounted setups like the Lian Li SUP01.
Gigabyte’s official statement previously claimed that rigorous testing included both vertical and horizontal orientations, and no reports of actual damage have surfaced. But visually, the leak is enough to cause panic among owners.
Do not attempt to repair it yourself—removing the cooler could void your warranty. For now, we’re waiting for an updated response from Gigabyte, but based on their previous stance, a real fix may not be on the horizon for affected users.
