Elon Musk Says Tesla and xAI Will Not Merge! [VIDEO]

TECH NEWS – He gave a positive review of Nvidia’s GPUs and confirmed that he plans to spend a few days at the White House.

Elon Musk made it clear he plans to maintain his political engagement with the White House. He recently gave a wide-ranging interview at the Qatar Economic Forum. In a surprising twist, Musk sounded upbeat about Tesla’s demand situation, claiming that the EV giant’s fortunes have already turned around, with only Europe still showing persistent weakness.

Tesla’s sales dropped by about 10% year-over-year in Q1 2025, as the rollout of the revamped Model Y led to a temporary production halt for retooling. Meanwhile, Musk’s political presence at the White House triggered partisan controversy. In Europe, his public endorsement of the far-right AfD party in Germany’s recent elections led to widespread boycott calls.

Musk said he still intends to spend a few days every few weeks at the White House, contradicting what he previously suggested during Tesla’s Q1 2025 earnings call, where he hinted that his work with DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) was mostly complete.

He denied any immediate plans to merge Tesla with xAI. The denial comes shortly after xAI acquired Twitter in an all-stock transaction that valued the AI company at $80 billion and Twitter at $33 billion, including $12 billion in liabilities. This pegged Twitter’s gross valuation at $45 billion before subtracting its debt load.

Commenting on Nvidia’s continuing dominance in AI hardware, Musk said he expects to buy a large number of GPUs from both Nvidia and AMD, adding that Nvidia’s chips are still superior to what Tesla builds in-house. That refers to Tesla’s proprietary ASIC chips. Once again, Musk seems to say one thing and then act in the opposite direction.
