MOVIE NEWS – Netflix has finally confirmed the release date for the much-anticipated final season of Stranger Things, created by the Duffer Brothers. It’s coming in three parts: the first on November 26, the second on December 25, and the epic finale will close out the year on December 31.

The entire cast is back for this three-part event: Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Brett Gelman (Murray Bauman), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), and Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna). Even Linda Hamilton, star of “Terminator,” joins the cast in a mysterious role.

Season 4, which premiered in the summer of 2022, was released in two separate batches in May and July. The episodes were longer than usual — over an hour each, with the final episode clocking in at more than two hours. The season ended in a fierce showdown with Vecna and the Demogorgons in the Upside Down, as fan favorite Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) sacrificed himself to save his friends. Vecna emerged weakened but still strong enough to let the Upside Down spread into Hawkins. The main cast survived, but Max was left in a coma after Vecna took control of her body.

Speaking to Variety, Sadie Sink was tight-lipped about what she shot for Season 5: “They love having me run,” she said, possibly alluding to the viral “Running Up That Hill” sequence from Season 4. “That’s all I’ll say.”

“She’s definitely going to have a role this season,” Matt Duffer added. Ross Duffer chimed in: “But we’re not ready to say how that’s possible.”

“Right, because she’s in a coma,” Matt continued. “She’s grown more confident as an actress and in her choices. We filmed a scene with her the other day that was just absolutely heartbreaking. I don’t know how she pulls that off.”
