Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake Rumors Heat Up – A Figurine Company Drops a Major Hint

Is an Assassin’s Creed remake truly on the way? A video game collectible company has teased that “something is happening” with Edward Kenway, the iconic character from the franchise. Pure Arts, which makes figures of gaming characters, has stirred up speculation about an upcoming remake.

Many fans have long hoped that classic Assassin’s Creed titles would return as remakes with enhanced graphics and updated mechanics. It’s been over a year since Ubisoft confirmed that multiple Assassin’s Creed remakes are in the works, and as the community debates which game should be resurrected, many are dreaming of setting sail again as pirates in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Recently, a fresh hint has added fuel to the fire regarding a possible Black Flag remake. During a Pure Arts livestream, one of the hosts let slip: “Assassin’s Creed fans, you should know there’s something going on with Edward [Kenway].” Another host quickly interjected.

“Wait, that’s been officially announced?” he asked (via Insider Gaming). “I think so, I’m pretty sure I saw some rumors about it. No, I definitely saw an article on it.” At that point, the speaker seemed to blur the line between official news and rumors surrounding the Black Flag remake, before wrapping up with a telling line: “Something will happen to Edward, and our 1/8th scale PVC figure will reflect that accordingly.”

The latest rumors suggest that the remake could arrive in 2026, especially since Ubisoft has delayed several games in the series. However, there’s no official word yet, and Ubisoft remains tight-lipped with no announcements expected in the near future. Right now, the studio’s focus is on supporting Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which will get major updates this year and likely see an expansion released as well.
