HyperYuki: Snowboard Syndicate: It Doesn’t Deny Its SSX Inspiration! [VIDEO]

Acclaim, which announced nine games at once, is preparing an arcade snowboarding game inspired by Cool Boarders and SSX.

From Wabisabi Games (known for RKGK/Rakugaki), HyperYuki: Snowboard Syndicate is a fast-paced, trick-heavy snowboarding adventure wrapped in a stylish, retro-futuristic Y2K aesthetic. Inspired by ’90s classics like Cool Boarders and SSX, players will tear down eight outrageous courses packed with opportunities for jaw-dropping tricks, all set to an electrifying soundtrack by YMCK, Trasto NueveVidas, and others.

The game features three main modes. Challenge mode serves as the core, where players must complete specific objectives on each stage to progress. Race mode pits you against other players or NPCs across all tracks. Chill mode offers a relaxing, endless experience to simply hang out and enjoy the scenery.

Hit the slopes and turn your closest friends into rivals in couch or online multiplayer. Compete for the top spot on online leaderboards. At launch, there will be four playable characters, with eight more unlockable as you progress. Players can customize their racer with unlockable snowboards, jackets, boots, and headgear.

The soundtrack amps up the energy with contributions from legendary Japanese chiptune group YMCK, Mexican electronic artist Trasto NueveVidas, and Yusuke Yamauchi, composer of the Tekken and Ace Combat franchises. Master all eight challenging courses filled with rails, ramps, and obstacles, and race toward the finish line in style.

HyperYuki: Snowboard Syndicate is slated for release in 2026 for unspecified consoles (likely PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2) as well as PC. With the SSX franchise neglected in recent years, Acclaim and Wabisabi Games have a strong chance to fill the void and carve their own path to success.
