Nvidia Invests in Intel: We Can Expect a Wild Marriage!

TECH NEWS – Now we hear that Intel will use Nvidia hardware. Could this lead to Nvidia processors?

Nvidia has announced a $5 billion deal with Intel, with both companies set to collaborate on chip development targeting the consumer and AI computing markets. For Intel, this marks a breakthrough, as partnering with Nvidia restores market confidence in its products, especially those tied to the x86 architecture.

According to an Nvidia blog post, Intel will manufacture custom x86 chips for Nvidia that integrate RTX GPUs. This collaboration will create unique CPU solutions, with a particular emphasis on integrating Nvidia’s x86 CPUs into AI clusters. Once regulatory approval is granted, Nvidia will invest $5 billion in Intel’s common stock at $23.28 per share. With SoftBank and the Trump administration already focusing on Intel, Nvidia’s involvement further tips the scales in favor of the American chip giant.

“For data centers, Intel will manufacture Nvidia-specific x86 CPUs that Nvidia will integrate into its AI infrastructure platforms and bring to market. For personal computing, Intel will build x86 system-on-chips (SoCs) incorporating Nvidia RTX GPU chiplets, which will power a wide range of PCs requiring world-class CPU and GPU integration,” Nvidia explained.

Details about these products remain scarce, but the focus appears to be on a joint venture in computing hardware. Although Intel’s x86 products have struggled in recent years, the company remains the dominant player in the architecture, and with Nvidia leading the graphics sector, their combined efforts could be game-changing.

Not only could this save Intel, but the market potential is enormous.
