Although we heard once this year that the release date of the game had changed, it cannot be ruled out that it will happen again.
According to rumors, the release of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI will be delayed for the second time. There is no doubt that the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto series by Rockstar Games will be the biggest premiere in gaming history. When it is finally released, Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to break several sales and concurrent player records.
Before the release of the first trailer in December 2023, infamous Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leaks were everywhere on social media thanks to algorithms and the fact that so many people were talking about the game. Grand Theft Auto V sold extremely well, so we can definitely consider it a mainstream game. However, when the second trailer was released, it was announced that the game would be delayed until 2026.
Anyone familiar with Rockstar knows that missing release dates is common for the studio. This is true for most franchises outside of Grand Theft Auto, but it’s especially noticeable with the developer of Red Dead Redemption. Nevertheless, there’s no doubt that Rockstar Games makes the most of extra development time, and Grand Theft Auto VI will be no exception. So it’s no surprise that rumors are circulating on social media that Grand Theft Auto VI may be delayed again, but, honestly, it won’t be significant (if it happens at all).
In the video below, Tom Henderson, one of the most reliable insiders, says he’s heard rumors that, if Grand Theft Auto VI is delayed again, it will be released in October instead of May for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Since GTA V was released in September, this possibility cannot be ruled out.

Tom Henderson says he’s heard “rumblings” that GTA 6 will get delayed to October 2026
Personally I think it’s too early for that to be decided but I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens one bit, May release date still feels weird but I hope they hit itpic.twitter.com/S1Y6wn4fXl
