PlayStation 5? „It’s up to the developers!”

What, we already talk about PlayStation 5? Yes. Despite the PlayStation 4 not being out for even two years, there is already talk of the next gaming console. The PlayStation 4 isn’t even at the 1/3 of its life cycle yet, but the future is always in the thoughts. SCE Worldwide boss Shuhei Yoshida has given an interview to Re/code about the life after the PlayStation 4 (after the same thing happening with the Vita, it’s no surprise that it happened).

Yoshida thinks that it is solely up to the developers if there is going to be a PlayStation 5 or not. If the game developers will require more power than what the PS4 can offer, then Sony will sit down and begin work on the next-gen system. There’s no reason for this to not happen. Why?

Well, PC gaming is slowly creeping towards 4K gaming, plus virtual reality is also getting into power, and these both require powerful hardware, so Sony will have to move soon. (Especially if Microsoft-Oculus Rift will get into action soon!)

Work on PlayStation 4 started in 2008, around 2 years after the launch of PS3, so Sony will soon have to get around working on the next console.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
