MOVIE NEWS – The Scary Movie parody franchise has pulled in nearly $900 million over its run, and that’s only part of the reason a sixth installment is slated for next summer.

The last movie hit in 2013, and since then, a string of successful new horror films has given the series plenty of fresh material to lampoon — while a new generation of moviegoers has also come of age. The upcoming entry aims to please longtime fans as well, with Anna Faris, Regina Hal,l and Marlon Wayans all returning.

Marlon Wayans, who co-writes the franchise with his brothers Keenan Ivory and Shawn, has revealed which horror titles will definitely be on the parody menu for the new film:

“I Know What You Did Last Summer is definitely in play. The Scream franchise always works. The Exorcist was really cool. Then there’s Longlegs, Get Out, and Nope. So there’s plenty to choose from. And of course we can’t forget The Guilty.”
