The classic tactical RPG is about to reach a much wider audience. *Front Mission 3: Remake* will end its Nintendo Switch exclusivity in early 2026, launching on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
A cornerstone of the tactical RPG genre is making its return in updated form. *Front Mission 3: Remake* revives the third entry of the iconic series, putting players in the roles of Kazuki and Ryogo as tensions escalate across unstable military zones. With the fate of the region hanging in the balance, players command massive Wanzers and lead their squad through demanding, turn-based battles in a future shaped by rivalry between nations and powerful corporations.
The game features two distinct narrative paths, both determined by an early decision made by protagonist Kazuki Takemura. Each storyline unravels a global conspiracy involving secret weapons, corporate greed, and nationalist ambitions. The story begins when Kazuki and his best friend Ryogo unintentionally become caught up in an armed conflict following what should have been a routine delivery.
Depending on the player’s choice, Kazuki either joins his sister Alisa or works alongside Emma Klamsky, an operative investigating the covert weapons initiative known as M.I.D.A.S. Across both routes, themes of loyalty, family ties, and the ethical implications of advanced technology take center stage, as Kazuki and his allies fight to uncover the truth and prevent catastrophic outcomes.
*Front Mission 3: Remake* offers two deep and engaging storylines shaped by player decisions, each providing its own perspective and challenges. Updated visuals and smoother animations bring the game in line with modern expectations, while the classic soundtrack has been reimagined. Players can customize their Wanzers with new camouflage options, and the Quick Combat mode allows for fast-paced battles straight into the action.
The game originally launched on June 26 for Nintendo Switch. That period of exclusivity is now coming to an end: on January 30, 2026, *Front Mission 3: Remake* will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One for €35. A demo is already available on all platforms.
