Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: It Managed to Captivate Many Players!

Sandfall Interactive’s RPG has already received numerous Game of the Year awards, as well as criticism regarding its use of artificial intelligence. The game has also received other recognition.

The Sandfall Interactive RPG swept the awards, becoming the most awarded game in the history of The Game Awards, while also receiving special recognition from Japanese developers. In addition to the Game of the Year awards and AI-related controversies, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has now received a unique honor: being named the most completed game of 2025. HowLongToBeat, a website that tracks game completion statistics, named Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 the most completed game released this year.

Considering that the main story of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is over 28 hours long, the fact that players remain engaged for such an extended period represents a major success for the RPG. However, HowLongToBeat did not provide clear data on how many players completed Sandfall’s title or what percentage abandoned it. According to PlayStation Network data, more than 34% of players who started Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 completed the main story on PlayStation 5, as indicated by the associated trophy.

Hollow Knight: Silksong secured second place on HowLongToBeat’s ranking, while Donkey Kong Bananza took third. The indie hit Dispatch finished in fifth place, supporting its near-perfect critical reception with a high story completion rate.

RPGs such as Monster Hunter Wilds and Hades 2 also made the list, while the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive Mario Kart World finished in seventh place. Neobards Entertainment and Konami’s horror title Silent Hill f ranked as the eighth most completed game of 2025, further proving the renewed popularity of the Japanese company’s franchise. Also appearing on the list are DOOM: The Dark Ages in fourth place and South of Midnight in ninth.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
