Asus Products Will Become More Expensive Starting Next Week!

TECH NEWS – Starting from the first normal week of the year, certain product combinations will have higher price tags.

Asus, a leading manufacturer of a wide range of products, has officially announced that it will raise the prices of some products due to the surge in AI demand. In a press release, the company discusses the reasons for the price increase and what consumers can expect starting next week. According to the company, the rapid spread of AI is putting upward pressure on global supply chains, making components such as DRAM and NAND more expensive. Prices have skyrocketed since October. Several hardware manufacturers, such as Maingear and Framework, have already announced price increases for systems shipped with RAM and SSDs. Similarly, Asus will raise prices for certain product combinations starting January 5, 2026. Let’s take a look at the letter signed by Joe Liao, general manager of Asus’s system business.

“Dear Asus partners and customers, thank you for your long-standing support and trust in Asus. In this new era of AI-driven computing, enterprises face greater opportunities and challenges in operational planning. Asus remains committed to long-term partnerships built on shared value and strives to deliver advanced, reliable IT solutions while growing alongside our partners.

As we approach the end of 2025, the global PC and IT infrastructure markets are experiencing strong demand driven by AI applications. However, due to structural fluctuations in the global supply chain, the cost of several key components, particularly memory (DRAM) and storage (NAND/SSD), has significantly increased. These changes stem from adjustments in global manufacturer capacity allocation, rising investments in advanced manufacturing processes, and the rapid expansion of AI computing demand. These factors are resulting in structural shifts across the industry. This impact is gradually reflected in system planning and overall cost structures and is becoming an unavoidable industry trend.

After carefully evaluating market conditions, supply stability, and product quality commitments, ASUS remains focused on delivering industry-leading technology and R&D capabilities to our customers. As a result, ASUS plans to implement strategic price adjustments to select product portfolios beginning January 5, 2026. These adjustments are a necessary response to sustained cost pressures and rising supply costs. They are aimed at ensuring a stable supply, maintaining product quality and service standards, and continuing to support the broader ecosystem. We understand that these adjustments may affect our partners’ operations, and we appreciate your understanding and support. Asus sales representatives will proactively reach out to provide detailed explanations and assist in planning appropriate response strategies and configuration recommendations to minimize the impact. Asus will continue to leverage its global manufacturing and supply chain management capabilities, working closely with partners as a trusted long-term business collaborator.

Thank you again for your trust and support. We look forward to maintaining close cooperation during this critical period and jointly navigating market changes to create a mutually beneficial future,” wrote Liao.

It therefore appears that pre-built PCs, laptops, handheld PCs, and any device equipped with DRAM and SSDs will see price increases. Although Asus did not specifically name the products, it is possible that GPUs will follow this trend. We have already heard that Nvidia and AMD will raise GPU prices starting in January. While AIBs can decide when to implement the new prices, it is expected that AIB GPU prices will rise immediately.
