It’s time to pop the champagne again: a high-budget John Wick video game has officially been confirmed, and Lionsgate is serious about bringing Keanu Reeves’ legendary assassin into the interactive spotlight.
While John Wick has firmly cemented its place in modern pop culture, especially among action movie fans, Keanu Reeves’ character has had surprisingly little success in the video game space. Outside of a collaboration with Fortnite, Jardani Jovonovich has barely appeared in an official standalone game. That situation, however, is finally set to change – and this time, it’s not just speculation.
Lionsgate has confirmed that a big-budget, AAA John Wick video game is currently in development. Although no release window or reveal date has been announced yet, the project itself is now official, giving fans real hope for a game that truly captures the intensity and style of the film series.
Lionsgate Pushes Deeper Into Video Games
The confirmation came during Lionsgate’s financial results meeting for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026. Adam Fogelson, president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, openly discussed the company’s plans to expand into video games, mentioning a AAA title set in the John Wick universe, alongside other projects based on franchises such as SAW.
According to Fogelson, Lionsgate has identified a growing demand for interactive adaptations of its properties and sees strong potential in the gaming industry. While the studio handling the John Wick project has not yet been revealed, development is reportedly progressing as expected, with official announcements planned for the near future.
Fogelson also made it clear that the goal is a large-scale, action-focused experience, very different from John Wick: Hex, which leaned more toward tactical and strategic gameplay. “We want to capitalize on the opportunity to release AAA games based on John Wick and SAW, and some of these productions will be announced soon,” he stated.
For now, everything awaits an official reveal, but this news could mark not only John Wick’s proper return to video games, but potentially Keanu Reeves’ comeback to the medium as well, following his role as Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077.
