Omega Force and Koei Tecmo confidently locked in a release date for the remaster back in September, but they have now backed away from it.

“The release of Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered has been postponed from the previously announced March 19 date. As the first remaster in the Dynasty Warriors series, we decided to further improve the game’s quality in order to fully satisfy our fans. The new release date will be announced at a later time. We appreciate your patience as we take a little more time before releasing the game,” wrote producer Tomohiko Sho on Twitter.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is a striking modern revival of Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends, the entries that helped set the foundation for the series for decades. Dynasty Warriors 3 was the first game in the franchise to introduce mechanics that would become core pillars, including True Musou Attacks, two-player simultaneous play, and an officer development system. It was also the first entry in the series to sell more than one million copies.

While retaining the essence of the original move sets, Dynasty Warriors 3’s action system has evolved further, aiming to feel even flashier and more exhilarating. In Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, players can experience the classic and evolved 1-vs-1,000 action woven from tradition and iteration. On top of that, the full cast of more than 40 officers and the many battlefields from the original game are being beautifully recreated in Unreal Engine 5, promising peak action alongside tactical warfare in this high-energy revival.

The package also includes the Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends expansion, which adds extra stories for seven officers including Lu Bu, Meng Huo, and Yuan Shao, plus bodyguard customization, new weapons, and four different challenge modes, offering even more ways to dig into this reimagined classic.

For now, Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is set to launch at an unannounced date. The target platforms remain the same: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
