MOVIE NEWS – With The Super Mario Galaxy Movie premiere approaching, new details have surfaced about the plot – which, until now, could only be guessed at as a story where two Italian plumbers save the universe. The situation is, of course, far more complicated, as the synopsis published by GoNintendo makes clear.
After Mario and Luigi stop Browser from marrying Princess Peach, they are forced to face a new threat in the form of Browser Jr., who wants to free his father – so they can finally fulfill the family mission, which is nothing less than conquering the universe. The plumber brothers set off among the stars with Toad the frog and their celestial protector Rosalina to defeat the younger monster, and during their struggle they find an unexpected ally in Yoshi, the crafty green dino. Mario and Luigi prove that even amid horrific obstacles, they can handle any burst pipe across the galaxy – and wipe their opponents off the course.
The film’s producer Illumination and its partner, the original video-game maker Nintendo, have not missed with the Super Mario brothers so far: the 2023 film The Super Mario Bros. Movie broke several records and delivered $1.3 billion in total revenue. Similar results are expected from the spacefaring adventure arriving soon
