Bungie is running an open-weekend Server Slam to see how well Marathon‘s live service infrastructure holds up under real player load.

In Marathon, players scavenge the lost colony of Tau Ceti IV as bio-cybernetic Runners, fighting through hostile security forces, rival Runners, and unpredictable environments in search of fortune. The game launches on March 5 in Standard and Deluxe editions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, with full cross-play and cross-save support. A new gameplay video is also out, offering another look at Tau Ceti IV’s abandoned colony, where every run is a high-stakes gamble on the planet’s hostile surface.

Players worldwide will be able to jump in during the open preview Server Slam from February 26 to March 2 on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. The preview starts at 10:00 a.m. PT on February 26 and ends at 10:00 a.m. PT on March 2, and it will also be part of Steam Next Fest. The Server Slam introduces Marathon‘s core gameplay with a limited selection of maps, Runner shells, and contracts, while more maps, factions, contracts, gear, and additional content are slated for launch and Season 1.

Anyone who completes the introductory mission during Server Slam will receive a special emblem and banner at launch to commemorate the event. To reward time spent in the test, Bungie is also offering tiered gear packages for Marathon‘s March 5 release, including weapons, implants, and other items aimed at helping players during their first runs.

Bungie also revealed exclusive rewards for PlayStation Plus subscribers: three weapon charms paying tribute to Helldivers II, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and Ghost of Yotei (Helldivers II – For Freedom, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – Battle Guitar, Ghost of Yotei – Onryo). Subscribers will be able to redeem them via the PlayStation Plus Exclusive Packs page once Marathon launches. Details on weapon charms for Xbox and Steam players will be shared later.

The Marathon reboot launches on March 5 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
