Scary Movie 6 Is Back, and It’s Not Planning to Pull Any Punches

MOVIE NEWS – After more than a decade away, Scary Movie 6 is heading back to theaters in summer 2026, promising the same ruthless, provocative parody that made the franchise a phenomenon – with modern horror targets and key familiar faces returning.

The series has always mixed affectionate tribute with total demolition. Classic franchise staples like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer remain part of the DNA, but the new installment is also lining up more recent hits for ridicule. That includes A Quiet Place, Jordan Peele’s Get Out and Nope, and newer titles such as Longlegs, Heretic, Sinners, Zach Cregger’s Weapons, and the Christmas-set chaos of Terrifier 3.

Nostalgia is not limited to references. Anna Faris (Cindy Campbell) and Regina Hall (Brenda Meeks), two of the franchise’s most recognizable faces, are returning as well. Just as significant is who is back behind the wheel: the Wayans brothers. Marlon and Shawn stepped away after the third film following an accounting dispute, and many fans felt the next two entries lacked the same shameless momentum. Now the pitch is simple: full-throttle, no-apologies comedy, even if some people leave offended.

The Scary Movie franchise has earned close to $900 million worldwide, so Paramount has every reason to expect another strong run. The U.S. release is scheduled for June 12, 2026, while Hungary gets it on June 11, 2026.
