If you feel like you’ve heard this before, you’re right – this was first announced years ago…
From Nightdive Studios, SiN: Reloaded is a fully remastered version of Ritual Entertainment’s 1998 shooter. This rough-diamond, story-driven FPS comes packed with memorable characters, horrific enemies, and a devastating arsenal that pushed the Quake II Engine to its limits. Step into a near-future dystopia as security consultant Colonel John R. Blade and take on the seductively evil Dr. Elexis Sinclaire. When Elexis, CEO of SinTEK Industries, starts flooding the streets with a DNA-altering drug, it’s time to rethink the laws of morality. As Blade, the war on crime became your religion – now Elexis has to pay for her sins when you confront her unholy army of genetically engineered mutants.
SiN was celebrated for bringing groundbreaking interactivity to nearly every level. Hack computer terminals with DOS-style code, use elevators and security cameras to wreak havoc, and even tear around in a forklift, patrol boat, or helicopter. Your actions have consequences, creating branching paths as the game progresses. SiN also helped pioneer mechanics like knocking weapons out of enemies’ hands, as well as area-specific damage from their attacks.
SiN: Reloaded includes the Wages of SiN mission pack, where you take on a diabolical mob boss backed by a fresh army of dangerous mutants. Both games have been optimized for modern systems using the KEX Engine. Visuals have been beautifully refreshed with new textures, the controls have been modernized, and maps have been improved with Nightdive’s trademark precision.
Play the original SiN and the SiN: Wages of Sin expansion, both optimized with the KEX Engine. Expect remastered graphics with HD textures and models, up to 4K resolution at 144 FPS, anti-aliasing, and upgraded 2D screens and menu art. Controls have been overhauled, the UI modernized, and levels improved throughout. You can swap between the remastered visuals and the original SiN Gold version. There are brand-new achievements, plus higher-resolution tracks composed by Zak Belika, remixed and engineered by Chris Mock.
SiN: Reloaded was first announced in 2020. Nightdive Studios, Slipgate Ironworks, and Ritual Entertainment are finishing the game, which 3D Realms and Nightdive will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime this year.
