Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Are We Still Getting Closer to Its Reveal?

Although the French publisher did not properly show off the 2013 Assassin’s Creed remake yesterday, Ubisoft still seems to be preparing something.

Although rumors initially pointed to a reveal happening yesterday, Insider-Gaming says the full unveiling of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will take place next week. According to the site, there is already a release date tied to the upcoming remake: it is reportedly launching on July 9. This comes after Ubisoft supposedly held a closed-door presentation yesterday for content creators and selected members of the press ahead of next week’s full public reveal. Naturally, it is unfortunate that the apparent reveal yesterday did not happen, but all signs continue to suggest that we are finally about to get a proper look at this long-awaited remake.

One such sign is that Ubisoft’s launcher leaked an image of the game earlier yesterday, which initially made players think a presentation would still happen before the end of the day. That obviously no longer seems to be the case, but it is clear that the full reveal really is just around the corner. The July release date differs quite a lot from the previously rumored March window, after all, it is already April, but at least it seems we may still step back into Edward Kenway’s boots before the end of the year.

Hopefully next week will also answer the biggest questions that have been surrounding the remake for months, such as whether Ubisoft באמת decided to remove the modern-day missions seen in the original game from the remake. We also want to know whether it will feature new missions and characters, and whether we might see cut content from the original game reworked for this new version. The most interesting part, however, will be seeing how Ubisoft ultimately chooses to handle the remake overall.

Years ago, CEO Yves Guillemot promised that we would get remakes of Assassin’s Creed games, and Black Flag Resynced appears to be the first in what may become an entire line of remakes. Based on how Ubisoft handles this first one, we will get a clearer picture of what to expect from future remakes, and whether they are something worth getting excited about…
