Kraken Express, previously known as Windrose Crew, is already enjoying major success, even though the game is still only in Early Access.

Windrose launched in Early Access on April 14, so this cooperative pirate survival game has only been sailing on Steam for about a week. That has not stopped it from posting an explosive debut, however, as Kraken Express has announced that the game has already surpassed 1 million copies sold. That is a superb result, and it could look even stronger later on.

“Ahoy, captains! We’ve just conquered another milestone – one million copies sold – and by ‘we,’ we mean you: the crew of brave captains sailing the seas of Windrose. On top of that, Windrose pulled in more than 200,000 concurrent players today! Your support for the game is simply incredible, and your patience while we work on bug fixes has been genuinely moving. As we keep working on the game, we read your reviews and comments, watch your videos and streams, and sometimes, honestly, shed pirate tears of joy, because now that the game is out, you are sharing in our dream of swashbuckling adventure. And yes, there are boars too, we know, but whatever doesn’t launch you into the nearest tree only makes you stronger, right?”, the development team wrote.

It is also worth looking at Windrose‘s system requirements, since the game is currently available only on PC.

The requirements are not final, and performance should improve across more hardware as optimization continues. The minimum RAM requirement applies to both solo and co-op play, but if you plan to host your own server, or world, you will need more memory, and an SSD is strongly recommended.
