Total War fans now have a very good reason to pay attention to next Thursday, because Creative Assembly is preparing its first real live-streamed showcase focused entirely on its own games and future plans. On April 30 at 4:00 PM CEST, the studio will go live with a Total War: Show and Tell broadcast that promises not only updates on games already out in the wild, but also fresh development details on some of its most anticipated upcoming projects.
The event was first announced through the official Total War account on X, while a more detailed explanation followed on the Creative Assembly community forums in a post from Joshua King, one of the studio’s designers and community-facing voices. That alone makes the stream noteworthy, because this is the first time Creative Assembly has tried to package multiple projects, updates, and in-development presentations into something resembling its own direct-style event.
Unsurprisingly, the biggest attention is falling on Total War: Medieval III. The studio has confirmed that the Building Medieval III series will continue here, but not in some rushed little segment. According to Creative Assembly, they did not want to cram what they had to say about the project into a quick 15-minute presentation, so this stream will instead focus on their approach to army rosters, using one faction as an example, while also answering selected community questions. They have already said that another dedicated episode focused on Medieval III will follow in the summer.
Medieval 3 Will Share the Spotlight With Warhammer 40K, Rome II and Warhammer 3
The other major attraction is Total War: Warhammer 40,000, which has remained largely quiet since its Gamescom 2025 reveal. This time, Creative Assembly says it will discuss the visual development of the planets that make up the galactic map, as well as how the team is approaching the idea of fighting across an entire world. They also plan to show several battle maps, including one that already appeared in the reveal trailer.
The rest of the stream will be split between updates for existing games. In the case of Rome II, the studio wants to explain how it plans to revisit and polish parts of the older title. Total War: Warhammer III, meanwhile, will get a closer look at Update 8.0, with new units, faction-related additions, and names such as Bhashiva and the Tiger Warriors already teased. On top of that, the team is expected to talk about Lords of the End Times, which looks set to be the game’s last major content wave and may effectively close out its current narrative arc.
What makes the event more interesting is that Creative Assembly is not selling it as a standard marketing broadcast. The studio has stressed that it will be showing in-development material, often without user interface elements and sometimes with placeholder assets, broken textures, and unfinished visuals. In other words, this is not meant to be a perfectly polished trailer reel. It is supposed to feel more like a public development showcase. If they get the tone right, that could make the stream far more appealing to long-time Total War players than the usual tightly edited promo package.
