The action RPG from Midgar Studio and Nacon understandably appeared during Nacon Connect with a four-minute gameplay overview. Edge of Memories promises a dying continent, a world infected by corrosion, fast combat, and a progression system built around fragmented memories.
Edge of Memories is a French action RPG in which players explore Avaris, a continent of breathtaking landscapes slowly falling victim to corrosion. To save what remains, Eline, the young Soul Whisperer, and her companions travel across the continent, desperately searching for a cure. True exploration is a team effort, and you will not cross these vast distances alone. Riding the swift Nekaroo, you can gallop quickly across the land, climb walls, and reach distant platforms. Your allies will also be essential: their elemental abilities can destroy obstacles blocking your path, while Ysoris can hack ancient technologies to solve mysterious puzzles and unlock secret areas.
Combat is fast-paced and action-heavy. You can chain devastating combos from light and heavy attacks, and overcome enemies with perfectly timed dodges. Corrosion runs through Eline’s veins: it is a curse, but also a weapon. You can feed her rage until its fury can be unleashed, transforming her into a terrifying black beast. You fight alongside two allies, Kanta and Ysoris, using their devastating elemental skills to control the battlefield, break through defenses, and neutralize the enemy’s most powerful attacks.
Your strength and versatility grow throughout the journey. Each level gained by Eline or her companions grants an Echo, which can be used to draw from Eline’s fragmented memories and create new combos, skills, and powers. You can customize your playstyle by creating up to three strategic sets, each combining one of Eline’s passive abilities with two elemental skills from your allies. The goal is to find perfect synergies and switch between loadouts on the fly to adapt to every threat. Edge of Memories will be released later this year. You will cross a dying continent and uncover the secrets hidden in Eline’s fading memories alongside companions who believe that lost causes are still worth fighting for.
Edge of Memories will be released this year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
