Timothée Chalamet Arrives in Budapest as His Wax Figure Reunites With Zendaya

Timothée Chalamet’s wax figure has arrived for the third birthday of Madame Tussauds Budapest, giving visitors nearly a month to take photos with the likeness of one of Hollywood’s most sought-after young stars. The guest figure has an added twist: in Budapest, one of the key filming locations of the Dune films, Chalamet is symbolically “reunited” with Zendaya, who has had a permanent figure in the attraction’s VIP room on Dorottya Street for more than a year.

Madame Tussauds Budapest is celebrating its third birthday, and to mark the occasion, the attraction is surprising visitors with a new guest figure. Starting today, Timothée Chalamet’s wax figure will be on display in Budapest for nearly a month, which should be especially appealing to Hungarian fans given the actor’s strong connection to the country. In the Hungarian capital, known as one of the filming locations of the Dune films, the two lead stars are now symbolically brought together again, as Zendaya’s wax figure had already become a permanent resident of the VIP room at Madame Tussauds Budapest.

Over the three years since its opening, Madame Tussauds Budapest has developed into a major attraction. The original collection of 51 wax figures has now expanded to 61, and the initial lineup has since been joined by figures of Dominik Szoboszlai, Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson, Usain Bolt, Harry Styles, and Zendaya. The Dorottya Street attraction has also hosted several short-term guest appearances: figures of Robbie Williams, Dua Lipa, and David Beckham have all made brief visits to downtown Pest.

Timothée Chalamet Has Traveled From Amsterdam to Budapest

The special guest for the third birthday celebration is Timothée Chalamet, star of the Dune series, Call Me by Your Name, and Wonka. Although he is only 30 years old, he has already become one of the most important Hollywood actors of his generation. His wax figure has traveled from Amsterdam to Budapest so Hungarian visitors can “meet” him in person for nearly a month. The figure depicts Chalamet in an elegant brown outfit, the same look he wore in 2023 at the New York launch dinner for the Bleu de Chanel campaign.

The wax figure also captures the actor’s signature wavy hair and intense gaze. Born in New York and also carrying French roots, Chalamet is not only one of Hollywood’s most in-demand young actors, but also a defining presence in the fashion world. The Golden Globe-winning and Oscar-nominated actor has moved from arthouse cinema to major Hollywood productions over the past several years, while his distinctive style has also made him one of the most watched figures on red carpets.

Chalamet’s connection to Hungary is more than a promotional detail. During the filming of Dune and The King, he spent several months in Budapest and other Hungarian locations. Hungarian fans especially enjoyed the star’s down-to-earth personality: Chalamet was frequently spotted in cafés around Budapest, once enjoyed kombucha in Buda with his partner Kylie Jenner, and was also seen walking along the Grand Boulevard. This guest figure is therefore not merely another international star arriving at the exhibition, but the likeness of an actor for whom Budapest was genuinely an important stop in his career.

Zsombor Jéger Presented the Figure

The Chalamet figure was presented by actor Zsombor Jéger, who has a special professional link to the Hollywood star: he has voiced Timothée Chalamet in Hungarian in half a dozen films. For Jéger, that connection began with Call Me by Your Name, and after the successful dubbing work, it became natural for him to be invited back for later Chalamet films. According to the actor, the two share not only a vocal connection, but also a similar level of energy.

Call Me by Your Name was the first film in which I voiced Timothée Chalamet in Hungarian, and since everyone was satisfied with the final result, it became natural for them to call me back to dub his later films. The two of us have quite a similar energy level – we can both get really intense and high-energy – which proved especially useful while dubbing Marty Supreme. I think Chalamet’s secret is that he always stays authentic to himself, and that authenticity radiates through his performances as well”, said Zsombor Jéger.

Zsuzsanna Óhidi, Operational Director of Madame Tussauds Budapest, said on the occasion of the third anniversary that the attraction has become an important quality-driven, experience-based part of tourism in the heart of the capital. “Since its opening, Madame Tussauds Budapest has become one of the defining pillars of quality, high-standard, and value-driven tourism in the heart of the capital. As a globally recognized tourism brand, it not only attracts domestic and international visitors as a world-class attraction, but also directly contributes to the economic and cultural ecosystem of the city center. It remains important for us to strengthen Budapest’s experience-driven image and international positioning, proving that tradition and innovative experience creation complement each other exceptionally well”, she said.

Timothée Chalamet’s guest figure is therefore a birthday attraction, a cinematic pop-culture gesture, and a Budapest-linked star story at the same time. Anyone who wants to take a photo with the wax likeness of the Dune and Wonka star should not wait too long: the figure will remain at Madame Tussauds Budapest for just under a month.
