MOVIE NEWS – Illumination has released a special teaser for Minions & Monsters, and this time the little yellow troublemakers call in Kylian Mbappé when the monsters are close to beating them on the football pitch.
Illumination, the studio behind some of animation’s biggest global hits, has released an unusual teaser ahead of the upcoming launch of its new film Minions & Monsters. In the video, the minions play a football match against a team made up of monsters. When they begin to lose, they desperately try to summon a superstar through magic.
The spell works, and Kylian Mbappé suddenly appears in the middle of the pitch. One of the most brilliant footballers in the world, the Real Madrid and France national team star joins the little yellow creatures, helps them take the lead, and ultimately guides the minions to victory over the monsters.
After the worldwide success of 2024’s Despicable Me 4, Illumination is once again pushing forward with the minions. Minions & Monsters tells the story of how the yellow troublemakers conquered Hollywood, became celebrated movie stars, and then, in typical fashion, lost everything in the blink of an eye.
As if that were not enough, their chaos also unleashes terrifying monsters upon the world. The exhausted planet is once again threatened by disaster, and the minions themselves must clean up the mess by joining forces and fighting side by side against the catastrophe they helped create.
More than 15 years after their first appearance, it is no exaggeration to say that the minions have muscled their way into the ranks of cinema’s most popular animated characters. The Despicable Me and minions franchise has generated more than $5.6 billion worldwide, and Minions & Monsters is designed to continue that extraordinary run.
