Acquire and Square Enix announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II are available on the Nintendo eShop for 5,478 yen each or 6,820 yen for both together. They will be released separately in the West on October 1 for $60 each and will be available physically via Game-Key Cards. The Switch 2 versions have improved resolution and frame rates. They are not compatible with save data from the Switch versions, nor can they be upgraded from them.

Square Enix has announced a free update to Octopath Traveler 0 coming this year. For all you veteran travelers who have grown too strong (thanks to those nuts), a certain formidable foe will return stronger than ever. First, take on an enhanced Capture battle, then face an Arena battle that is far more formidable. Can you overcome this trial? The silhouette is Amatsukami no Orochi. Phenn in Wishvale has received a letter of introduction for a new resident. They are apparently an “adventurer” from another world. The silhouette is Elliot from The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales.

Octopath Traveler was first released for the Nintendo Switch on July 13, 2018. It was released for PC on June 7, 2019; for Google Stadia on April 28, 2020; for Xbox One on March 25, 2021; and finally for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on June 5, 2024. Octopath Traveler II was released on February 24, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It was released for the Xbox Series and Xbox One on June 5, 2024. Octopath Traveler 0 is available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
