Yes, there’s been another leak, so Rockstar and Take-Two are still under fire.
Cyberleak has released two more videos, prompting a flood of DMCA takedown notices. The first video shows a player stealing a police motorcycle, driving it into a river, and casually murdering residents of a camp under the highway. The second video shows a nighttime raid on an Allied Crystal refinery. In it, the player uses a taser to incapacitate the on-site security guards before stealing a truck. As in the other videos, the player controls Jason, the male protagonist of Grand Theft Auto VI. In addition to these seemingly authentic (but unconfirmed) clips, there are some that are likely fake and generated by artificial intelligence. Rockstar has not yet commented on the source or authenticity of the videos and likely never will.
When Jason approaches a stranger’s car, the classic Grand Theft Auto car-theft move, the “Smash Window” option, appears, along with the new “Clone Key” option. This would allow players to steal cars more quietly; however, the leaked video doesn’t show how it works. In the nighttime footage, we see Jason steal and use a stun gun. This may be a significant change to the Grand Theft Auto combat system: the crosshairs remain on the screen as long as Jason has a weapon, and he appears to be able to fire without aiming. Does this mean you can shoot from the hip? Perhaps Rockstar wants this Grand Theft Auto game to feel like a fast-paced cover-based shooter. If so, maybe you won’t need to press a button to sprint anymore.
In Grand Theft Auto V, you could interact with strangers by pressing a button, but you never knew exactly how they would respond. A leaked video shows Jason approaching a few non-player characters (NPCs) under a bridge. The player can choose to “greet” or “taunt” the NPCs, which is similar to the system in Red Dead Redemption 2 or Bully. During his rampage, Jason loots a few corpses. You have to crouch down next to the corpse for a moment, but the animation is much faster than in Red Dead Redemption 2, where Arthur Morgan spent a lot of time picking up and searching corpses. There also appears to be a separate item wheel, independent of the weapon selection wheel. This is another feature inherited from RDR2.
In one of the clips, a bird falls from the sky and plummets to the ground in front of Jason. Moments later, a second bird does the same while he’s walking under a highway. Furthermore, the player uses an item called a Zombix, which appears to be a healing item. The player receives a warning that repeated use of the Zombix will temporarily reduce its effectiveness.
