No, the character’s last name doesn’t start with a B—it’s a P, and it’s a classic IP. However, it can be misleading.

The collection spans the Amiga 500, SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Commodore 64. This limited physical collector’s edition brings James Pond’s classic missions to a Nintendo Switch 2 game card. Explore an interactive hub filled with character profiles, hero and villain biographies, franchise history, level information, original packaging, and a comprehensive series timeline. The game’s trailer features “Maybe,” an original, studio-recorded title track inspired by Dr. Maybe. The song is planned for release on Spotify and Apple Music ahead of the game’s October launch. Enjoy multiple save-as-you-play slots, controller rumble, adjustable scanlines, in-game audio controls, and custom bezels. Navigate the collection in English, French, Italian, German, or Spanish.

The collection introduces the all-new Pondverse, an interactive hub that brings together characters, villains, bosses, games, and memorable locations from throughout the history of James Pond for the first time. Players can delve deeper into the franchise with detailed character profiles, biographies of heroes and villains, insights into games and iconic levels, and 3D artwork inspired by original pixel art. The Pondverse features authentic box and packaging artwork, as well as a comprehensive timeline charting the series’ evolution. First introduced in 1990, James Pond combined colorful platforming with playful secret-agent parody, sending its unlikely aquatic hero on imaginative assignments across home computers and consoles. More than three decades later, The James Pond Legacy: The Pond Is Not Enough preserves that history while preparing Pond for his next mission.

“James Pond has never been an ordinary hero, and this was never going to be an ordinary collection. This release is about preserving the different versions, soundtracks, artwork, and unmistakable personality that shaped the series while ensuring they remain enjoyable for today’s players. With the new Pondverse and a limited physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition, longtime fans and newcomers alike can explore the complete James Pond legacy like never before,” wrote Mark Cale, System 3 founder and CEO, in the press release.

System 3’s collection, The James Pond Legacy: The Pond Is Not Enough, is coming in October as a digital release and as a limited-edition cartridge for the Nintendo Switch 2. Although the announcement didn’t mention it, the collection has been rated for the PlayStation 5 in Germany, so it will be released on that platform as well.
