Nicolas Cage Battles Cannibals in New Post-Apocalyptic Action Thriller

MOVIE NEWS – Nicolas Cage will lead Parish, a post-apocalyptic action thriller in which a nuclear-war survivor faces a siege by cannibals. The story follows his character through a collapsing world where cannibalistic enemies turn survival into a brutal fight.

Nicolas Cage has signed on for another hard-edged genre role. The post-apocalyptic action thriller Parish is heading to the Toronto International Film Festival market through Concourse Media, with its story unfolding in a world reduced to a wasteland by nuclear war.

Cage will play a hardened survivor who has stayed alive for three decades with the help of highly trained attack dogs. He follows one absolute rule: never let anyone through the gate protecting his refuge, but that order collapses when a desperate woman appears outside carrying an infant.

The survivor must choose between compassion and self-preservation. His decision exposes the sanctuary he spent years building, drawing the attention of a vicious group of cannibals who place the compound under siege and force Parish into a brutal fight to defend everything he has left.

Adam Sigal will write and direct the movie, following earlier projects including Chariot and the Simon Pegg film Nandor Fodor and the Talking Mongoose. Parish does not yet have a release date, although Concourse Media is presenting it as a theatrical event, while the producers promise a savage, cinematic, and visceral world.

Cage also has a crowded schedule ahead: the sports biopic Madden with Christian Bale is due in November, the Lord of War sequel is expected in 2027, and he will return as his alternate Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Parish adds another dark, action-driven role to that growing slate.
