MOVIE NEWS – Harry Potter actress Jessie Cave has revealed that income from OnlyFans saved her family during a severe financial crisis. Her content is not erotic: she brushes, plaits and styles her hair for subscribers.

Most viewers know Jessie Cave as Lavender Brown from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the later films in the series. The role did not provide lifelong financial security, however, and Cave says people often assume she is wealthy even though it was a relatively small part nearly twenty years ago.

The 39-year-old mother of four launched her OnlyFans account in March 2025. Her concept was deliberately niche and non-sexual: humorous, artful videos showing her brushing, braiding and arranging her hair, which quickly found an unexpectedly enthusiastic audience.

Speaking on This Morning, Cave admitted that she initially felt embarrassed because she would have preferred conventional acting work. High childcare costs, scarce offers and losses accumulated through her Edinburgh Festival performances left her searching for a new source of income.

The account ultimately allowed her to repay those losses, support her family and continue creating one-woman puppet shows. She says she earned more through OnlyFans in a single year than throughout her acting career, but the most important result was regaining the freedom to keep making art.
