2016! No, 2017! No, 2016! While the seesaw of the release date is being pushed around at Sony, we’re moving towards this year yet again regarding the latest Guerrilla Games’ project, the PlayStation 4-exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn. The devs were tired from Killzone games, so they needed something new.
A French poster – seen below – says that the game will be available in 2016, so the title that mixes the future with the past should be in stores by December. Despite hearing PlayStation South Europe’s boss not mentioning Horizon Zero Dawn as an upcoming 2016 game, and despite rumors that it will have a PS4.5/PS4K NEO mode with a 2017 launch, we can’t believe anything anymore.
The E3 (which is indeed an important event) should have Sony mentioning when the game finally arrives. It won’t be a surprising event if they end up throwing Horizon Zero Dawn into the Christmas rush. After all, Killzone succeeded in 2004, although the PS2 was out for almost four years by then (in the West, at least).
