One of the key members of the PlayStation brand decided to leave Sony behind to return to his previous work environment.
Adam Boyes was Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Vice President of Third Party Relations and Developer Technology Group, but he announced on his Twitter that he is quitting his job at the Japanese company. Boyes believes that the previous 4+ years at Sony was an incredible journey, and he also assured everyone that the „gamers are in GREAT hands.” We don’t know where he will go yet, but he’s going back to the „independent side” with game development. In a sportsmanlike manner, Xbox-boss Phil Spencer also wished him the best.
Boyes was mainly in QA-related positions at multiple places until he became an executive producer at Midway Games in 2003. He moved to Capcom in 2007 to be director of the production, and he also showed up at Starbreeze as a member of the board of directors.
We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
After an incredible journey here at PlayStation, I’ve made the very hard decision to return to the world of game development!
