After Assassin’s Creed, the newest Far Cry game is breaking records, too.
GamesIndustry reports that in the United Kingdom, one of the major markets for the gaming industry, Far Cry 5 took the best launch of the franchise so far, and it’s also the biggest start for any 2018 game, too. (Which means it even topped Capcom’s Monster Hunter: World!) A bit of trivia: Far Cry 5 launched on the 13th week of the year, and the previous record keeper on this week was BioShock Infinite – the past tense is intentional… We’re only talking about the physical sales, but the PlayStation 4 still managed to singlehandedly pull in 60% of the sales itself, making the sixth biggest launch of a Ubisoft game on an individual format in UK chart history.
Let’s take a look at the charts, too: FIFA 18 and last week’s winner, Sea of Thieves, got on the podium, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds climbed to 5th, Call of Duty: WWII to 6th, and Assassin’s Creed: Origins to 8th place, respectively. Last week’s second placed game, A Way Out, fell to 7th, and Grand Theft Auto V, as usual, is still in the top ten with its tenth position.
On SteamSpy , we see that over 540 thousand users already own the game on their Steam accounts. Have a look at DigitalFoundry’s analysis – the PlayStation 4 Pro runs the game on a 2880×1620 resolution, while the Xbox One X does so on a native 4K. The rest will be told by the comparison below…
